Our Review Process
Every product we review goes through the same rigorous process:
- Product research — we dig into the brand's background, eco-certifications, ingredient sourcing, and environmental claims. If a brand says they're "green," we verify.
- Hands-on testing — we use every product in real life for at least two weeks. No first-impression reviews here.
- Data collection — we measure what we can: cleaning power, battery life, durability, scent, ease of use. We compare against conventional alternatives where relevant.
- Comparative analysis — we benchmark against similar eco-friendly products and, where helpful, the mainstream equivalent.
- Final verdict — we assign a star rating, list pros and cons, and give our honest recommendation: buy it, consider it, or skip it.
Our Rating System
We rate products on a 5-star scale across four dimensions:
- Eco Impact — materials, packaging, certifications, end-of-life considerations
- Performance — does it actually do what it claims?
- Value — is it worth the price compared to alternatives?
- User Experience — is it easy and enjoyable to use day to day?
How We Stay Objective
Trust is the foundation of everything we do. Here's how we earn it:
- We buy most products ourselves. When a brand sends us a sample, we disclose it clearly at the top of the review.
- Affiliate links never influence our verdict. We earn commissions on some products we recommend, but we'd recommend them either way. If a product isn't good, we say so — commission or not.
- We don't accept payment for reviews. Sponsored content, when it happens, is clearly labeled and never presented as a review.
- Bad reviews stay published. If a product disappoints, the review stays up. We don't remove negative reviews at a brand's request.
